Hogan
Memorial
Benton
County
Speedway

(Gustin with
broken Tie
Rod)
One of the
best nights
i have seen
at Benton
County
Speedway,
track was
very muddy
at the start
but turned
out to be an
amazing
track during
features.
Brad
Chandler
took the win
for the
sport
compacts ran
a clean line
and his car
ran very
well it was
a well
deserved
win.
Jacob Kaiser
took the win
in the Hobby
Stock, with
Wes Stanek
in second
and Brad
Forbes in
third.
Curt Hilmer
in the 22h
took the win
in the Sport
Mods, he
started on
the pole and
ran a nice
clean line
all the way
to the
checkered.
Damon Murty
took the win
in the Stock
Car
Division,
Jason Deshaw
had the lead
at the green
and not much
longer Phil
Holtz made
his way
around
Deshaw for
the lead,
and later on
Curtis
Roster and
Jeff Mueller
got caught
up in turn
one and
Roster was
sent into
the pits for
Rough
Driving, the
way it
looked
Roster
should have
not been
sent into
the pits for
rough
driving but
that was the
call, and
few laps
after that
incident
Dulin and
Mueller were
bumping back
and fourth
and it ended
when Dulin
got loose
and drove
over the
front of
Mueller and
Mueller's
car was done
after that
incident.
Mueller was
out of his
car not 2
minutes
after his
car was
stalled and
was in front
of Dulins
car and
Dulin made
sure he got
his fare
share of
words as
they both
argue on the
backstretch,
after it was
all done and
over with
Damon Murty
had a nice
gap to hit
the win.
Scott Hogan
won in the
Modified
Division!
Congrats
Scott, boy
what a race
that was.
Race was 40
laps long
with a 5
minute break
after 20
laps for
drivers to
get fuel,
tires or any
adjustment
they were
able to
make. Hogan
Started near
the front
and jumped
on the high
side right
away as
others were
driving low
to mid,
Richie
Gustin
started in
the third
position and
quickly
jumped into
the lead
after trying
the high
side, Hogan
was right on
his bumper
few laps
later and
Hogan took
the lead
after Gustin
came off the
corner bad
in four. At
the Halfway
point it was
Hogan,
Gustin, JJ
Wise, Tim
Murty and
Jay Schmidt.
Hogan and
Gustin had
quite a jump
from the
rest of the
group as 20
laps remain
at some
point right
after the
intermission
Gustin broke
his tie rod
on the left
front,
Gustin was
still
running
right behind
of Hogan
with his
left tire
dangling
around not
soon after
half of
Gustins
sheet metal
gave off of
the side of
his car and
was flapping
in the wind,
he kept on
going and
was side by
side with
Hogan for a
few laps
with his
tire
flopping
around and
his
sheetmetal
still
holding on
and then he
lost his
drive shaft
coming into
the front
stretch,
what a run
for Gustin
with all
that had
happened,
Cordes was
making his
way to the
front as
well as
Luloff.
Hogan took
the win with
Tim Murty in
second and
Cordes in
third, Jay
Schmidt in
fourth and
Luloff in
fifth.
